Fewster’s Farm Honey – September 2025 News

Welcome to the September issue of our Newsletter!

Bees are vital because they pollinate plants, which is essential for food production and healthy ecosystems, with one out of every three bites of our food depending on pollinators like bees.
Their pollination allows plants to reproduce, ensuring the availability of fruits, vegetables, and seeds, and contributing to the biodiversity of wild plants and crops. Bees also provide other products like honey, beeswax, and royal jelly, and their declining populations due to factors like pesticides and habitat loss threaten our food security and environmental health.
Bees play a key role in the following:
Food Security:
Bees pollinate a vast number of food crops, making them crucial for our food supply. Globally, about three-quarters of the world’s leading crops depend on animal pollination.
Ecosystem Health:
By pollinating plants, bees play a key role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting healthy, vibrant ecosystems that are necessary for agriculture and life on Earth.
Plant Reproduction:
Bees transfer pollen from one flower to another, enabling plants to produce fruits, seeds, and new flowers. This process is essential for the survival and reproduction of countless plant species
Food:
Bees produce valuable food products like honey, royal jelly, and pollen.
Other Goods:
They also create other beneficial products, including beeswax and propolis,
which have uses in skincare and pharmaceuticals.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
4 tablespoons of Fewster’s honey
2 tablespoons of coconut oil, melted
A pinch of salt
16 whole almonds
1 cup of dark chocolate chips
METHOD
STEP 1
In a food processor, blend the shredded coconut, honey, melted coconut oil, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
STEP 2
Shape the mixture into small rectangles (like the shape of Almond Joys) and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Press an almond onto the top of each rectangle.
STEP 3
Place the tray in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until the coconut rectangles are firm. Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
STEP 4
Once the coconut rectangles are firm, dip each one into the melted chocolate, ensuring all sides are covered. Return the chocolate-covered treats to the baking paper and place them back in the freezer until the chocolate is set.
Enjoy!
